My Wake-up Call

sometimes God has His way of teaching us lessons, big and small.

sometimes all we have to do is to listen to His still small voice showing us the right path.

but His grace is sufficient for us, our weakness is made perfect in Him.

The grace that we ought to show others stems from the forgiveness we were first given.

It's amazing how I never thought about His grace, His mercy.

Every day, I see His hand overflowing with goodness and love for His children.

Thank You Daddy, for your love and grace that I dont deserve.

Once again I look upon the Cross where You died.

I'm humbled by Your mercy and I'm broken inside.

God is love.

I am reminded that He is not only my Best Friend, but my Redeemer, my Saviour, and above all, He is my King and God who deserves all my praise and adoration.

sometimes i take that forgranted, and reverence together with obedience loses its meaning.

it's time to get serious because every day is a new beginning. God closes cases, dusts skeletons, dumps our closets. when will we ever learn?

how many Billy Grahams do we need in this world which has lost its standards and morals?

Choose this day, whom you will serve. It's time to grow up into the man/woman you are meant to be.

haha at school now:) ive got 1 lecture (8am) and 2 labs (3hours each) today.

just read an email from cel. welcome to aussieland dear! i hope u'll enjoy urself in sydney..=) big hugs. :)

first week of school was okay..but it's now time to get serious. ive realised that we only have 3months of real studying every sem. that's quite short huh. haha. okay, updates on my week!!

got my L's license already! okay..after months of procrastination haha..i took a total of 2 days (after the first reading of the L book) to study it..got one wrong for the test. haha it was quite funny. after i clicked the answer (and u cant go back to change it) i was like "oh no, i forgot to put the textbook ans". it's like they expect you to give way to all pedestrians even when they cross the main road blindly when you're driving straight?!!? -_- in real life, id honk at them loudly hurhur.

[anw, driving is a lil diff here than in sg. we get L's (after theory test) and anyone with a full license can teach you. then a minimum of 6months later, you sit for practical and a computer hazard test..get your P's. then you can drive alone, but it's a minimum of 3 years before you get full license!!]

after that, went for our cell group core meeting. it was quite good:) just supporting each other and revisiting the vision for our cell. love them all.

friday saw a mini taylors gathering haha. met up with shin han cheryl and yan zhi. (and nikki didnt come cos she thought today was tomorrow and what have u not haha) haha we had lotsa fun just chatting for about 3hours at glen. haha the worst part was at gloria jeans (coffee place), for me. i went to ask this guy to take a photo for us, and he just gave that weird look. okay nvm, then after a while, i went to the toliet, opened the door, and he didnt lock it!!?! oh no. haha the counter staff started laughing, and i was just. embarrassed and got everyone to leave asap. fortunately his back was against me. hahaha.

haha cheryl and i took the bus in the wrong direction..ended up at knox city (one of the bigger shopping malls). it was pretty ironic cos before that we were commenting that "one day, we should go to knox city." -_- so we were both late for our club meetings. anw, ocf welcome night! aveen and yu mei (my housemates) came for a while before they left to watch my super ex girlfriend! haha. and elliot came..so that was quite good!!:)

met up with the sc girls on sat night. kairui, bea, sam tan, bronwyn. had quite a nice time just talking about..err. let's just say, bea's prejudices haha. naah lar, just talking about melbourne and everything. i think kai and i forgot that each other was in monash..the last time we met up was last year when i knew her cousin haha. but it was a good trip there and back, just talking to her..haha. :) the whole meeting was just so, SC. havent had that for a while. haha.

sunday was good too! went for 1045, then did a bit of driving with dad..and Casey:) praise God for a good worship.:) thankful for a wonderful team who're encouraging..some new people (Melissa and Julianna from monash too) are joining us, and shuqing's back!! okay yay we have 2 drummers now.:)

nat: haha yeah it's our greatest talent. but you see, now that jiejie's getting older, she doesnt practise that anymore hehe. only for you okay!! missing yingweimeimei. :)

thanks dear. it's really very touching to know that someone out there cares for you even though we may be miles away. i teared when i read it cos i miss you guys so badly too.

of all the people who came to the airport to send me off in jan05, one of the people i rem the most was hy. i didnt expect her to cry, cos hy's not the sort. even my mum said she was shocked haha.

to me, hy's my strength, my conscience, the one who keeps me on track. if i ever try to imagine her voice in my head, it would be "char, you can do it one lar". "char, sure can one". or "char stop whining!".

i remember the night, at about 1am when nick msged me to pray for her dad. i was so scared and worried that i started crying. it was the night before my vce bio and i badly wanted to sleep. i knew that if it were me in tt position, hy would do anything to help me. but all i could do was pray for her over sms, and sms my dad to help her in any way, and try to sleep.

they say true friendships take years to form. i think i only knew hy in camp in sec3/4? haha. i still remember those days we would link arms and walk around, and whine to each other. yeah, we were those kind of girls you'd roll your eyes at for our girly-ness.

angang, i actually wrote a short note to you months ago, after reading one of your down/discouraged entries in your blog. its in the envelope with a stamp and your add, but i havent sent it to you cos i felt that a short note like that is too small to be sent over international mail haha.

but i just want you to know i miss you. and the rest- deb nick charles ern. ---> and i dont even communicate with the last 2 anymore.

yay a new blog layout! finally. the previous simple layout became boring after a while. i cant seem to change the word "disaster". hmm. not very nice is it. but i love the art, i think it expresses who i am pretty well. haha (think deep and analyse)

okay! i just replied all my emails. from shun, alicia, wei li, cel, bill and jia. i love getting emails from my friends. to all those who have been supporting me through your emails and recollections of your lives which i love to hear, thank you. i hope you havent stopped reading my blog cos you're angry about my atrociously shoddy late replies. (but for example, shuk always forgives me and has probably given up on me -grins to her)

just went for the 2 day ocf leaders camp. it was great!! even though it was pretty cold-shudders. but it was a breakthrough, i think for many. praise God for that:) haha..played this board game (like monopoly but has some err. probability of earning money involved) paired up with joshua, who is the king of game deceit. haha super fun! i love board games. haha..but when it concerns money, sometimes greed can take over and that's why gambling/betting is so dangerous. even in the minute amounts.

two thanksgivings: daddy got a job at monash! same campus as us. haha..so that's great! anytime i miss him, i can ask him out for a date;0) and praise God for jie and my results too. God always sees us through all the seasons.

today was the first day of school! finally. sometimes the kiasu sg kid in me feels redundant and brainless with little studying. haha. hope i get to meet new frens! :)

dinner with kian wei and fiona last week was fun! we had nice vietnamese food in springvale. yummy. dessert was smoothies. kw had durian (waaah) jie had longan, and me- jackfruit. love spending time with them.

our Casey worship practice the next day was great too:) i think we're ready to bring it to the next level. man, God has been always providing us with so many things. first a free bass, and now a drum set. it's now up to us whether we want more. =)

back to hectic schedule!! cell grp core team dinner at eileen's on wed, meeting with bea on thur and then with the other sc girls in melb on sat. must make time for God everyday. cannot forget*

hy: someone misses you very badly. someone thinks youre her great fren. char whines: "pipi where are you?"

deb: haha ee why your blog so childish!! haha so many things moving around. but piggy suits you lar. piglet!! you should put eeyore inside too okay. haha. for tagboard, just click on the link on my tag board "get a cbox" then put the html on your template. haha ask pipi to teach you.

nat: yeo ying wei! haha i miss your whining!! and giggling..basically just your antics. haha. hope you get to spend time with the OCS whino soon okay! hope ure not too lonely at home!i miss you natty nat nat. =) when i come home, i'll give you a great big hug. and continue our fav activity. :)

shuk: dear dear..you can do this okay. whenever you need someone to talk to..just call me okay? and i pray that God will always be so real to you. He is only a prayer away. :) rem your resolutions!! big hugs to my strong girl. :)

my sleeping patterns, due to culprits wimbledon and the world cup, have been leaving me with aches and disruptive sleeps. mum says im not hot cos i watch tennis and not soccer- which is the hot thing right now. (?!?) haha. to my credit, ive stayed up for a grand total of 1match- portugal v england. bad choice eh. but not for the likes of beckham and ronaldo. as for the finals, i did hope that france would win and show the world what ridding racial discrimination could do for them. but, why zidane, fall for their infamous tricks? do you not have socceroo advisors?

soccer unites the world. or more generally so, sports does. like love, laughter and smiles, it is a universal language. but the world will never unite. so much for technology and "knowledge". As daddy has enlightened me, the world can figure out how things work, but humans can never create some of them.

fortunately, sane and normal humans still exist. those who applaude courage, determination and will power. we see it through nadal, through justine h-h. they fought the world's best and acknowledged their cut above the rest. through rose-tinted glasses, i saw a part of the world unite in appreciating the "right" human values and characteristics we so respect.

i hoped. didn't we all?

i shall set my clock back to the normal, since school is starting next week. clear up my room, go to fitness classes, get driving theory done, and borrow text books for next sem.

dinner with the Sia's on wednesday, Pak Ken& family on thursday, and jamming with drums thereafter. our first actual practice together since Casey started. -laughs. we're okay. =)
