yay i cant wait to move out of my horrid room, horrid only cos im extremely messy. haha i havent even unpacked the stuff from my house last year. apparently, i dont need much of those stuff then. haha the other day, Pak Ken came unannounced into our room and took a pic with his phone, shaking his head at the same time haha. whatever!!
oh well, we'll still be renting next year, but at least it'll be a proper house with no strangers. i guess for me, it's not easy living with people other than family or really close frens. it's just, terrible. haha. oh well, new experiences every time. :)
sorry i havent been updating, been busy almost everyday with work and bringing mummy out. we went to Brighton beach as a family the other day, nice suburb! love the houses there. i guess im still not bored with melbourne or victoria cos there're so many things to do and see, we can go to different places every weekend. went to Mt Dandenong again for lunch/picnic. i drove up there! not bad eh..quite a windy road up the mountain. not sure how high it was, but should be okay lar.
anw, christmas is coming. plans to just visit our extended family and some close frens then. going for a christmas party organised by my receptionist job workplace today. it's at the nice Langham hotel haha. i guess it's my type of party kinda thing haha. oh well, we all have different tastes. dinner on my boss. she's nice.
so far, the jobs have been fun and nice. i think waitressing is so much more fun at Hog's Breath, cos we get to communicate with the customers and just talk to them before getting their orders haha. we all have a nickname, so mine's 'Smiley'. hahaha. my boss gave it to me. shucks, i wanted Flounder or sth hahahaha. another girl got Minnie, so unfair haha. okay so then the customers keep calling me Smiley and smile when they say my name haha. there was this guy who went like "hey can you smile?" and i thought i did something wrong or sth, then he was like "you have a beautiful smile" hahaha. so funny. he was with his gf anyway. but these people just make your day. :)
i suppose the fun bit is also that my sis and are the only true asians there. only about 1 more abc, the rest all aussies. so it's just nice working with them, getting to know them. at least you feel part of this country. yeah..
anw last friday, sis and i had dinner with my 2 favourite people, June and Eileen:) june just left for sg, she's going to work there for good now. hey thanks dear for the pen/pencil, i hope you like my gift too! better use it okay:) and Eileen went back to kuching via a very long route haha. so the both of them wont be back in ocf next year, Eileen's moving on to citylife. thanks for the pressie and keychain dear!! i guess church ministry is really different, i do enjoy it. but i'll miss the both of them alot, working life is really different i guess. we move on to the different stages of our lives. i love you both!! :)
i'll be leading a DG (discovery group) next year in ocf..means it consists of pre-believers. im not sure what to expect, it'll be much different i guess. but it's really interesting cos that day when Jon called me to ask me to confirm whether i was leading the dg, my pastor prayed for me and he saw me leading a small group of young people next year, taking up more leadership roles. so it was like, okay, this is what God wants me to do even though i dont think cell leading is really what i want to do. yeah..but this year, ive realised how impt a cell group is, being close to my cell group leaders. they've really made a difference in my life and have encouraged and inspired me lots. so i wanna do the same for my group next year:) weeee.
haha i went to help my bosses' (another boss, different from the 2 above) wife clear her very dusty just renovated house. gosh i thought i was messy. haha nah, it was just because her children dont stay with her anymore, so their rooms are like some store rooms. anw, so she was telling me about the places she's lived in, mostly interstate in aust. and about the different stages of her life.
i thought it was rather interesting, the stages of our lives. like now, im ready to move on, ready to put in more effort into ministry, ready to take on different things. other people are ready to get into the workplace, to get married. haha like how June and i were preparing for the ocf thanksgiving, and she wanted to look cute!?! (yes lar, very cute haha) and i told her im trying not to look plain sweet anymore. haha. you know, the different stages. hahaha.
i think it's rather interesting, like how my bosses' children are in the different parts of the world, london, paris, nsw etc. maybe i wanna do that next time, try living at least about 6 months in a different country. i think it really widens your view on life and people. :) im glad i came to monash as well, cos we have campuses in london, south africa, msia etc. so we can do exchanges while paying the same school fees, plus get travel allowance. haha, that'll be fun in the later years of my degree. :)
okay everyone, have a good christmas. and to those in singapore, i really miss you guys a whole lot. i wont be coming back this year or even early 07, so have a great christmas, new year and countdown, and chinese new year! loves-
